INTRODUCING RISE UP
BETHANIE WILLIS (vocalist) is very excited to join Rise Up and perform with her sister Madison Willis in this Hamilton-inspired band! Recent Credits: Porgy and Bess at the Seattle Opera (Featured Chorus), Crowns at Taproot Theatre (Yolanda), and SHOWTUNES' The Bridges of Madison County at ACT Theatre (Carolyn). Village Theatre Mainstage credits: Dreamgirls, Show Boat, AIDA, South Pacific, Annie, and The Sound of Music. Previous readings: 5th Avenue Theatre's Pump Up The Volume and Village Theatre's My Heart Is The Drum.
DENNY LE (he/him, vocalist) is a Seattle-based performer that has performed theatre all around town. Some of the companies he has worked with include Seattle Shakespeare Company, Off Road Shakespeare Company, Intiman's Emerging Artist Program, Pork Filled Productions, Bainbridge Performing Arts, Parley, GreenStage and more. Denny studied Musical Theatre at the University of Washington and has been a vocalist for Rise Up since the band started in 2017. Much love to mom and grandma!
MADISON WILLIS (they/she, vocalist) is a home grown Seattleite singer, actor, choreographer/director and dancer, who loves lasagna and playing cards with friends and family. Madison has performed with companies such as; the Minskoff theatre (NY), 5th Avenue Theater, Seattle Musical Theatre, Village Theatre, Center Stage, University of Washington, and Tacoma Arts Live. She received her BA from Pacific Lutheran University in Civic Communication and Theatre, and frequently teaches at the Redmond Academy of Theatre Arts. Madison is excited to be returning to live performance and can't be more grateful to be joining the Rise up family!
NALICA HENNINGS (vocalist) is very excited for her first season in Rise Up. She recently graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor’s in Music and a minor in Theatre. Nalica is a singer, actor, and dancer, who has performed with Western Washington University’s Theatre and Opera Departments, American Theatre Northwest, and Seattle Opera. Currently, she is performing with multiple groups including Premier Vocal Entertainment’s Motown Jewel Tones and Seattle’s Princesses.
PO LEAPAI (vocalist) is an artist, activist, and audio engineer who grew up in churches, singing Gospel music alongside his 10 siblings. This alumni of Full Sail University has produced original music and has performed all along the West Coast. As an activist, Po works on Social Justice issues. He was recently appointed by Gov. Jay Inslee to the 11-member, Office of Independent Investigations Advisory Board. Po is also the Advocacy Organizer for both The Washington Coalition for Police Accountability and The Washington Low Income Housing Alliance. Po is thrilled to be appearing in Rise Up's 2022 Season!
CAITLIN SARWONO (she/her, vocalist alternate) is beyond grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this amazing band! She is a junior at the University of Washington studying Music Education with a Vocal Emphasis. Caitlin is also a voice teacher and music director at the Redmond Academy of Theatre Arts. Many thanks to the whole band for welcoming her.
ALICIA RINEHART (violin) is excited to be back with Rise Up. Alicia has performed with Paramount Theatre, 5th Avenue Theater, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and Seattle Symphony. She’s thrilled to be playing with Village Theatre this season. Additionally, Alicia has performed in concert with Stevie Wonder, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, Johnny Mathis, Sammy Davis, Jr., Burt Bacharach, Kenny Rogers, Barry Manilow, Lee Oskar, and Idina Menzel. BEN BENTLER (keyboard) is thrilled to be making his Rise Up debut. Ben’s credits include professional musical direction, conducting, and keyboard work at Village Theatre & 5th Ave as well as work in Chicago, Spokane, and Iowa City. I’d like to thank Toby, Nora, and Korey for all the love and support to help me through the long months of Covid.
JEFF BRUMLEY (bass) is the bassist for Rise Up and is an in-demand multi-instrumentalist in Seattle, also playing guitars, mandolins, banjo, keyboards, vocals, and more. You can find him playing with Steel River Junction, Poor Clare, The Late Late Risers, the Seattle Mandolin Orchestra, Side One, Kurt Dyrhsen, Carin Towne, and Exit 8. He majored in music at Seattle Pacific University and studied bass guitar with the best teachers in NYC.
JEREMY STONE (he/him, drums) is a Seattle-based multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer. He accidentally founded Rise Up in 2017 and then all this sh&t happened. Much love to Melissa, Alex and Zoe. Not to the cats, who are a-holes.
JIM HORNE (piano, musical director) is the former President of the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestras, and the co-creator of the award-winning sci-fi audio drama, The Fourth Ambit (www.ambitgroup.com). The only gig he’s ever had that’s “cooler” than Rise Up was when he was hired to accompany a cabaret singer in Antarctica.
